The Brief

PLAY

is a civic space that will aim to allow visitors to exercise and connect their emotion, body and mind in a seamless and playful manner. It is a space for communities to gather while encouraging movement and creativity to be explored. By no means is this space a promise for a full sweat shred work out or emerge as the next Monet - but this space will allow individuals to emerge as one that has a more wholistic connection to their

emotional, physical and mental state.

The proposed spatial installations will embody a hybrid of refuge, movement and creativity within their unique typology. Combining these traits furthers the wholistic approach to an individuals sense of coherence.

PHYSICAL HEALTH

Each space will encourage a form of circulation and movement within it. 'Static' spaces will still involve travelling from one space to another to reinforce the need for movement. PLAY is about subconsciously moving throughout the site in a non laborious way.
MENTAL HEALTH

There are a range of typologies within
the space to foster learning and creativity. This all contributes to the mental wellbeing of the individual as it educates on the limitlessness of creativity that should be explored.
EMOTIONAL HEALTH

Each space will have places of rest embedded within them. There will also be dedicated spaces of rest for those who need privacy and refuge while occupying the space. Each space will also be dominated by one colour to reinforce the emotive atmosphere of each space.

Forms will sit inside the minimally touched existing skin in bright and bold colours to contrast the proposed against the existing.
